The European Vaccine Hub, coordinated by Sclavo Vaccines Association, has officially started, with a kick-off organised in Siena on 22 and 23 of May.
We were very happy to meet again in Siena with the key stakeholders and excellent teams who built this unique infrastructure.
The European Vaccines Hub offers a great opportunity to federate European leaders in vaccines development, lead by academic institutions and key national initiatives for Pandemic Preparedness:
- Sclavo Vaccines Association,
- Fondazione Biotecnopolo di Siena,
- Institut Pasteur,
- European Plotkin Institute for Vaccinology - Université libre de Bruxelles,
- Leiden University Medical Center,
- Universiteit Antwerpen,
- Paul-Ehrlich-Institut,
- German Center for Infection Research,
- iBET - Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica.
This consortium of EU institutions and manufacturers involved in vaccine research and development will:
💉 Contribute to the development of an agreed set of pandemic-prototype vaccines and scalable technologies;
🧪 Ensure effective coordination of national vaccine research programmes.
The SCINNOV team was very proud to be part of the projet development and the proposal writing, raising 102 million Euros. This project paves the way for a new European infrastructure and successful public - private partnerships for Pandemic Readiness.
