Horizon Europe - Cluster 1 - Health

Cluster 1 - Health

Under Pillar II of the Horizon Europe programme which supports research into societal challenges and strengthens technological and industrial capacities, the first strategic area is the Cheers.

The aim of this Cluster is to improve and protect the health and well-being of citizens of all ages by generating new knowledge, developing innovative solutions and, where appropriate, integrating a gender perspective to prevent, diagnose, monitor, treat and cure diseases.

The development of health technologies, the mitigation of health risks, the protection of populations and the promotion of health and well-being in general and at work are also at the heart of its objectives.

Finally, the Cluster also aims to make public health systems more cost-effective, equitable and sustainable, to prevent and combat poverty-related diseases, and to support and encourage patient participation and self-management.

The expected impacts of this Cluster are described in the strategic plan for the Horizon Europe programme.
