The project
The European Vaccine Hub (EVH) for Pandemic Preparedness project aims to improve Europe's vaccine preparedness and response capacity in the event of a pandemic by creating a collaborative network of nationally-funded vaccine R&D initiatives. It brings together leading European organisations, including Biotecnopolo, Institut Pasteur, Vaccinopolis (Antwerp), DZIF and ZEPAI, which specialise in vaccine development and pandemic preparedness.
The platform will initially focus on H5N1 and universal influenza to test its end-to-end pipeline, with additional activities for SARS-CoV-2, monkeypox and flaviviruses. By aligning EU resources and expertise, the EVH will create a comprehensive pandemic vaccine preparedness plan to protect Europe's citizens and economy.
This project will enable European players in charge of vaccine development to become more structured, with the aim of anticipating future pandemics.
